13 Garden 101 (Seeds and Starts

This is the first episode in a new Revolutionary's Garden series, Garden 101. In this Garden 101 series, we'll be going over the very basics for gardening, both at home and within a community of growers.

Today's episode will cover seeds and starts. Both how and where to get your seeds, as well as how to get them started. We cover all kinds of great info, like whether to choose soil blocks or seedling trays, how to store seeds, and various soil starting mixes.

Keep an eye out for the next few episodes in this series where we'll cover: Soil and compost, Weeding, Watering, Mulching, Cover cropping, and Harvest!

As always The Revolutionary’s Garden is written and produced on occupied Abenaki land. While we are still doing some research, The Revolutionary’s Garden is saving a potrion of our proceeds to pay to the Abenaki people in the from rent. It is vital to remember that land acknowledgements are a good first step, and rents are better, there is no substitute for land back and indigenous sovereignty.

Today, we would like to recommend The Alliance of Native Seedkeepers. Both an incredible organization and an incredible resource, The Alliance of Native seedkeepers is working to revitalize indigenous communities in a number of ways. The Alliance of Native Seedkeepers is always my first stop for some incredible quality seeds.
